About GoldScope

A publication focused on helping readers understand gold markets and XAUUSD.

GoldScope explains how gold behaves as a traded market: what XAUUSD actually is, which forces tend to move the price, how traders read structure on a chart, and — most of all — how risk works when a volatile instrument is traded with leverage.

The aim is understanding, not instruction. We do not publish trade signals, price forecasts or buy and sell calls, and nothing here is personal financial advice. We would rather a reader finished an article better able to judge an idea than holding one of ours.

Who is behind GoldScope

GoldScope is produced as part of a marketing project for TheNextLevel, a trading education and analytics company. We say so plainly because readers are entitled to know who is behind what they read.

That relationship shapes one thing on this site: a small number of articles include a clearly labelled “Further learning” section that points to TheNextLevel. Those sections are marked as promotional, their links carry rel="sponsored", and they appear only where the resource is genuinely relevant to the article — not on every page.

It does not change how articles are researched or what they say. Articles do not recommendTheNextLevel’s products in their body text, do not repeat its performance figures, and are written to be useful to a reader who never clicks the link. GoldScope has not independently tested TheNextLevel’s tools or services.

What we publish

  • Plain-language explainers on gold and the XAUUSD quote.
  • How the main drivers of the gold price work, and why they often conflict.
  • Chart-reading concepts such as trend structure and support and resistance, framed as ways of organising information rather than predictions.
  • Risk management and position sizing, with the arithmetic shown.
  • How gold appears on trading platforms such as MetaTrader 5.

How we work

Articles aim to answer the reader’s question early and then give the depth behind it. Factual claims are checked against primary sources before publication, and an article that has not been through that check is not published. Our standards are set out in the editorial policy, and the general risks of trading are described in the risk disclosure.
